    Eligibility: Public and private Institutions of higher education located in the U.S. are eligible. Collaboration and partnerships with colleges and universities outside the United States are permitted, but only U.S. Institutions are eligible. Profit-making forms are not eligible to receive assistance agreements from the EPA.

  • Source Reduction Assistance (SRA) Grant Program

    Focus: “SRA grants funded innovative source reduction approaches, also known as “pollution prevention” or “P2. P2 means reducing or eliminating pollutants from entering any waste stream or otherwise released into the environment prior to recycling, treatment, or disposal.”
    Deadline: April 11, 2022
    Requirements: SRA grant projects must use one or more of the following technical assistance methods to carry out source reduction: research, investigation, experiments, education, training, studies and/or demonstration of innovative techniques
    Eligibility: The 50 states, the District of Columbia, the United States Virgin Islands, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, any territory or possession of the United States, local governments, city or township governments, independent school district governments, state controlled institutions of higher education, nonprofit organizations (other than institutions of higher education), private institutions of higher education, community-based grassroots organizations, and federally-recognized tribes and intertribal consortia. 

  • Great Lakes Trash Free Waters: Harbors, River Mouths, and Waterfronts

  • The Environmental Justice Collaborative Problem-Solving Cooperative Agreement Program

    Focus: “Provides financial assistance to eligible organizations working on or planning to work on projects to address local environmental and/or public health issues in their communities. The program assists recipients in building collaborative partnerships with other stakeholders to develop solutions that will significantly address environmental and/or public health issue(s) at the local level.”

    Requirements: Must use the EPA’s Environmental Justice Collaborative Problem Solving Model as a project aspect. The model aims to address local environmental and/or public health issues in collaborative manner with various stakeholders such as communities, industry, academic institutions, and others
